The BIO 500 is the new Black edition of the Bio 400 model (same model different colour) and the culmination of over 40 years of experience and research into water filtration by some of the worlds leading scientists. Waters Co was first to market with natural gravity fed systems creating alkaline mineral water way back in 1984 and have continued to lead the market in research and development setting the benchmark for all other brands to follow. We love this water filter. We were wanting a healthier, cleaner water option rather than tap water. I looked at alot of other water filters & what stood out to me was the 13 levels of filtration that this unit offered, also, as we dont have a large kitchen, its size is perfect for our bench top. We have noticed we are drinking alot more water since we have had it, which is a good thing. Easy to assemble, looks stylish & the water is the best we’ve tasted…. just liking drinking from an alpine stream.

I recently purchased the 5.25L Bio Water filter. I was pleased that the main water container is glass (having read/seen so much about microplastics in water in the news recently). I'm unsure if the filter removes any microplastics, so it would be good to see information or a study on that...
It feels like a bit of IQ test putting it together, as the diagrams & names of the filter sections are quite generic, but keeping calm and thinking it through, I managed this without issue. It helped having previously put two different models of Bio filter jugs together, so I knew what to expect!
The tap function on this model is easy to use and it seems useful that it swivels.
I find that because the unit sits on the bench, I'm more likely to remember to drink water. Or have a glass as well, when I make myself a coffee!
It's an elegant looking unit, and I'm happy to have an additional source of water stored for if the water ever shuts off (e.g. during road works or pipe upgrades, etc). And, of course, the filtered water tastes very nice.
I had initially wanted to buy a bigger size unit, but there weren't any options available in stock. (Is there still new stock coming?) But I think that this 5L size works well for a home situation, without taking up too much space in a small kitchen.
It's nice to have room temparature water for winter, and we have the filter jug in the fridge, more for summer use.
I'm very happy with this purchase and the quick delivery and supporting comms, etc.

This water filter is amazing!!! I was addicted to coke before buying it and purchased it without being able to really afford it (I thought). I have changed from drinking 90% of my daily fluids in cola, to pretty much 100% pure, amazingly tasting, virtually fluoride free water!! I couldn't be happier!! I'll have the filter paid off within a few months by the amount of money I'm saving on soft drinks. I feel so much happier and healthier!! I can't thank you enough!!
